5 Fun Facts About Me

Before I get too far in blogging, here’s five fun facts about me.

1.     I have a small family

My family consists of me, my dad (Rick), mom (Patty), sister (Erika) and our dog Levi. My sister is 24 years old and is my best friend. Don’t get me wrong, since I’m the youngest we had our fair share of fights back in the day. My parents are the most supportive parents and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. I know they’re reading this, so I love you all!

2.     I have bowled since I was 3 years old

For a little backstory, my grandparents built the bowling alley, Pla-Mor Lanes, in my hometown back in 1976. My parents bought it from them in 2007 and now looks very different inside. I guess you can say I was born into a bowling family but I loved the sport from the very start. I bowled competitively from middle school up until my senior year of high school. Throughout my high school career, we accomplished two DII State Championships, one DII State Runners-Up finish and a third place finish in the state of Ohio. The sport of bowling gave me not only awards, but a calm and determined personality during high pressure situations, the opportunity to be coached by my dad and make lifelong friendships.

3.     I love to be organized

If there was one word to describe me, my friends would scream organized. I am a huge believer in Google Calendar and having a detailed planner. Not only is my room mostly always clean, but I like to keep my life organized especially with school in full swing. I have a color-coded calendar that has when I’m in class, when I have volleyball workouts and other meetings I must attend. If you don’t have Google Calendar, I highly suggest it.

4.     I love to bake

Ever since I was a young girl, I always found myself begging my mom to go to the store to pick up ingredients so I could bake something. Whether it was cupcakes, cookies or cake pops, I just loved to bake. Recently, my sister and I made 250 cake pops for a wedding. It was quite the challenge, but they turned out great.

5.     I love family vacations

Every summer my family and I travel somewhere in the United States for vacation. Typically, these vacations are for Bowl Expo, a bowling convention, but there’s plenty of time for relaxing by the pool and shopping. This summer the convention was in Las Vegas and it just so happened to be my 21st birthday the day we flew out. A day into being 21, the casino we were at had Flo Rida performing at the pool. All my dreams came true when I got to go onstage to sing and dance a foot away from him. It was the best birthday ever, from what I can remember from it! 😉

I hope you learned five new things about me. If you have any questions, drop them below. Stay tuned for another five fun facts, because 10 put me over the word limit. Talk to you next time!

  1. That is so cool to own a bowling alley! I have my good moments but for the most part, I suck at bowling. I somehow find a way to twist my wrist when I bowl every time lol. And that cake pop display is gorgeous!! I was also raised in a baking household so I can understand the struggles in completing large orders. Also, I'm glad you had fun for you 21st birthday. I haven't been to Vegas, but I would love to go.
