COVID Craziness: Senior Year Edition

Senior year is in full swing and my schedule is becoming very busy week by week. As we continue onto the next phase, we are allowed to begin playing volleyball. Now the ultimate challenge of balancing school, practice, workouts and meetings are beginning.

Having my best gal pal (Em Brock) with me in every class sheds some light on a very dark, long tunnel that I like to call senior year. As a freshman, I remember looking forward four years and it feeling so far away. Well here we are, four years later and holy cow the realizations of graduation are setting in. As a country lover, I will be living life during my senior year by the wise words of Kenny Chesney, “Don’t Blink”.

With all the “lasts” that come with senior year, I wish one of them could be COVID. I just wish we could all have a normal senior year where we don’t have to wear a mask in class or feel like you’re being watched 24/7. I could go on and on about the disappointments COVID has brought to the year 2020. I feel like I’m a pretty positive person, so I am hopeful that the end of this nasty virus is near, but not knowing the answer to ‘how near’ drives me nuts.

Since there’s nothing I can change… living in the present is the only thing to do. My only hope right now is that our whole senior year isn’t justified by COVID, but we can have a sense of normalcy.

On another note – my favorite way to keep track of my life is Google Calendar. Everything and anything I do is on my calendar, and if it’s not… I will probably forget about it. I am a firm believer in having your calendar in more places than just one. I have an electronic version through Google Calendar, but also write everything down in my Erin Condren planner. This way, I don’t forget about a capstone meeting, an assignment that’s due or volleyball practice. To end this blog on a happy note, here's a picture of a beautiful Ada sunset!
